Lawyer says gun maker long knew about explosion-prone rifle

In this 2009 photo provided by Trent Procter, a Savage Arms stainless steel 10ML-II muzzleloader owned by Procter of Swan River, Manitoba, Canada, is displayed weeks after its barrel exploded and severely injured his left hand. Savage Arms recently agreed to pay a confidential settlement to Procter to resolve his lawsuit, one of several that allege the company kept a defective firearm on the market.

IWI US is conducting a recall of all Galil ACE (GAP39) pistols that have a receiver with a 3-pin (3-hole) fire control group construction. While these pistols cannot fire automatically, BATF&E has historically held that AK type receivers with 3-pin (3-hole) fire control groups are, by definition, machine gun receivers. This condition is primarily present if downward pressure is applied to the bolt too early while pushing it forward.
